Overall after completing Project 1, it gives me the idea on animating Mani. It helps a lot for my Project 2. I personally think that this Walk Cycle project is very good in ensuring me to understand the basic animation principles. It assists me in ensuring good sense of weight and dynamics too which I tried my best applying them in both of my projects.
Notes From Class: First approach we had in class in to stand up in class and observe how each and every part of our body reacts when we walk so that we can picture it well in our heads. From there, we then put it to Mani. Even though parts like our heads and bouncing of body is quite minor while walking, it does contributes in making my character walks looking realistic.
The most difficult part I find for this Walk Cycle project will be animating the hands to make it look relax and real. Most of the feedback I get from Mr Douglas is having my hands part looked too stiff. After consultations, I managed to finally make Mani's hands swings smoothly without looking stiff and it look as though he is really walking leisurely with natural swinging hands.
